New or existing students in School District No. 48 may request a transfer to a school other than their catchment school. A transfer can take place during a school year if there are available seats, or begin in September. If space is available, the student will be placed in their preferred school. Otherwise, transfer applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
 
 
 
 
 
Out-of-Catchment Transfer Requests

 

If you wish your child to attend a non-catchment school, they will be considered subject to the availability of space and facilities at the school requested.

 

If your child is a current student in the district:

Please contact your current school office and submit a completed Out-of-Catchment Transfer Form.

 

If your child is new to the district:

Parents/Guardians must still register at their English catchment-area school and provide:

  1. Completed Student Registration Form;
  2. Completed Out-of-Catchment Transfer Form;
  3. Proof of British Columbia residency;
  4. Student’s BC Care Card;
  5. Student’s official Birth Certificate;
  6. Student's last report card (if applicable);
  7. Immunization records (if available);
  8. Immigration / Citizenship / Permanent Resident documentation, if applicable; and,
  9. Legal guardian, custody or court order document, if applicable.

 

 

Out-of-District Transfer Requests

 

For students who live out-of-district and wish to attend one of our district schools, your child will be considered subject to the availability of space and facilities at the school requested.

 

Please Contact your school of choice to make an appointment to drop off a completed registration package at the school. 
 
For your school appointment, students must be registered in person by a parent or guardian and the following original documentation must be presented at the time of registration:
  1. Completed Student Registration Form;
  2. Completed Out of District Transfer Form;
  3. Proof of British Columbia residency;
  4. Student’s BC Care Card;
  5. Student’s official Birth Certificate;
  6. Student's last report card (if applicable);
  7. Immunization records (if available);
  8. Immigration / Citizenship / Permanent Resident documentation, if applicable; and,
  9. Legal guardian, custody or court order document, if applicable.

**Out of District applicants applying for the upcoming school year will not have their application reviewed until September enrolments are confirmed, generally by the second week of September, unless known available space in the school will allow the student to have their enrolment approved in advance of school opening.

 

Note: All Out of District students who attended a district school in the previous school year and wish to attend in the subsequent school year are required to submit an Out-of-District Transfer Form to their school by June 15th. A new application must be submitted each year.
