The Electrical Foundation Youth Train In Trades program at HSS is offered in partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).
When in session: The Electrical Foundation program gives students the opportunity to learn a first-year apprentice's practical and theoretical skills. Students graduating from this program will receive their level 1 training credits and 350 hours towards the completion of their first-year apprenticeship program. Beginning February 6th to June 27th, 2024. Students attend school from 9 am – 3:15 pm Monday to Friday. 
The course is taught by Mr. Chris Weaver, a Red Seal Electrician. There is a strict attendance policy and students are expected to arrive to class on time ready to work each and every day.  Students divide their time between classroom study/instruction and shop work.
Each student is required to provide their own CSA-approved Steel-Toed boots. If you are interested in the Electrical Foundation Program
  1. Complete the online Application Form  (you must be logged in with your sd48.org account to access the online Google form).
The Career Program Office will contact you for an interview. Once you are accepted into the program you will need to attend an online information session (time & date TBD) and you will be required to fill out the KPU Registration forms and pay the course materials fee of $500.
