Spring Honouring Ceremony at Ecole Garibaldi Highlands Elementary School

At a recent Spring Honouring Ceremony, the École Garibaldi Highlands community gathered to reflect on and celebrate the meaningful work undertaken throughout the year. The event highlighted the collective decision to embrace a new school identity and paid tribute to the many individuals who contributed to this transformative journey. Students were recognized for their bravery in embracing change, while several key contributors were honoured for their roles in bringing the vision to life. Art Harry was acknowledged for his work on the mural and the unveiling of the carvings. Siobhan Joseph was recognized for designing the new visual identity, and Bev Harry was celebrated for providing cultural guidance, including teaching students how to draw the T’Kaya. The school also recognized Lisa Manzini for her commitment to organizing school sports, fostering team spirit, and supporting students in embodying the T’Kaya identity.
