Accessibility

In line with the Accessible British Columbia Act, the Sea to Sky School District established an Accessibility Advisory Working Group in June 2023. The initial purpose of this working group was to offer guidance to the school district in formulating an accessibility plan. The plan aimed to identify, prevent, and eliminate barriers that individuals with disabilities or diverse abilities encounter within the school district. You will see a link to the plan below. The Accessibility Advisory Working Group has grown over time into a more representative Accessibility Committee to ensure more voices at the table from those with lived experience across multiple partner groups. The committee will continue to grow and change over time.
As this work is ongoing, we want to hear from our learning communities regarding specific barriers that people face when they're trying to:
- Access a school program, building, or school information
- Receive a service or support
Below you can click on the "Accessibility Feedback Tool" button help us understand the barriers people face when accessing a school program, building or service. You may also call our office, visit our office, mail or email us to report a barrier. Your responses to the feedback tool will be reviewed by Accessibility Committee for their consideration. This information can be submitted anonymously, or you can provide your contact details at the bottom of the form if you wish to be contacted.
