Pemberton School Meal Program

green banner

Through the support of community partners, students at Signal Hill Elementary and Pemberton Secondary School have access to breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We thank the Pemberton Food Bank, Grimms Gourmet Deli, Devil’s Diner, Stewardship Pemberton, and Pemberton Valley Supermarket for their generous support.

Students can access food through before-school breakfast programs and low-barrier fridges stocked with snacks and sandwiches. Programs are open to everyone - when students are hungry at school we do not turn students away for financial or other reasons. Schools may offer food at specific times and support students to eat the food provided from home before accessing school-offered food.

Families use meal programs for many reasons, including saving time on lunches, enjoying meals with peers, easing financial pressure, or during temporary challenges.

Some programs operates on a pay-what-you-can model to support fairness and long-term sustainability as funding is limited.  Given limited resources, we ask that families contribute what they can to ensure we can keep offering the program into the future to benefit the community!

School Meal Pilot:

The school lunch pilot is testing a pay-what-you-can model to support equitable access and program sustainability. This means families give what they can afford, if they are able to pay for the lunch program. Payment is not required to join the program.

Lunch will be provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch will not be provided on early dismissal days.

*Paper sign up forms are also available at the office.
