Pemberton School Meal Program
![]()
Through the support of community partners, students at Signal Hill Elementary and Pemberton Secondary School have access to breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We thank the Pemberton Food Bank, Grimms Gourmet Deli, Devil’s Diner, Stewardship Pemberton, and Pemberton Valley Supermarket for their generous support.
Students can access food through before-school breakfast programs and low-barrier fridges stocked with snacks and sandwiches. Programs are open to everyone - when students are hungry at school we do not turn students away for financial or other reasons. We trust that any student who is accessing a program or asking for food at school needs it and we make them feel welcome.
Families use meal programs for many reasons, including saving time on lunches, enjoying meals with peers, easing financial pressure, or during temporary challenges. The program operates on a pay-what-you-can model to support fairness and long-term sustainability as funding is limited.
Pay-what-you-can School Lunch Pilot Sign Up Jan 13 – March 13
The school lunch pilot is testing a pay-what-you-can model to support equitable access and program sustainability. This means families pay what they can afford, if they are able to pay for the lunch program; however, payment is not required to access the program.
Lunch will be provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first lunch will be provided on January 13th. When you sign up, a “pay what you can” fee will be added to your student’s School Cash Online. The suggested amount is $100 for January 13 – March 12th, approximately $6 per lunch. Any amount you can contribute is appreciated.
